This project extends my research of an ancient garment technology: tablet weaving. I have learned this method and have discovered new techniques to create 2D and 3D structures. Through these methods I was able to create bags that consist of one seamless fabric. Once removed from the loom, the bag is immediately ready for use. The anatomy of the human body inspired the design of this collection. The bag’s straps twist, fasten, and balance around the body, much like how our ligaments and muscles embrace the bones. Techniques: hand dyeing, tablet weaving Materials: cotton
