    Local Sitting

A house, a tent, a blanket, a rug, and a mat are all forms of marking territory, the beginning and end points of an area that we consider to be ours, whether it is a temporary stop or a permanent residence. The project focuses on minimal temporary marking of territory without leaving traces – mats from local available materials. The mats are woven on the site. Placing the loom, picking, designing, and preparing the vegetation join the action of bricolage – creating with what’s around you, with the available materials that determine the rules, aesthetics, and functions of the mat.
