Inside Craft
My final project is about the dialogue and tension between tools, material, and the user's freedom of choice and creative thinking. My research began from a desire to forge a connection between craft, games, and education. Exploring these ideas inspired me to make a creative, instructive, and fun adventure – all of those through the art of craft, and in a dynamic, interactive way. I focused on the nature of the tools that are used to make textiles, looking for suitable forms that would encourage learning through creation. For me as a child experiencing ADHD, playing was always a significant experience, one that directly relates to craft, and as such can be used as A tool that helps one deal with difficulties relating to brain function, concentration, and the enhancement of motor skills. These domains are intertwined and form an integral part of my creative process. The jewelry starts as my conceptual idea and ends with the user’s craft act. The pieces of jewelry and the work done to design the final product are derived directly from the textile world. Products of my project are kits that include tools for creating a piece of jewelry. Each kit allows you to freely fashion an object directly on the body while playing with the threads and . The connectors determine the contours of each item of jewelry and generate a path for the threads to run through in the body’s space. The process enables a unique creative experience. Materials: 925 silver, rubber threads and magnets; kit: felt and magnets Technique: impression, inlay and fabrication
