Techniques: Classic jewelry techniques, etching, and python programming, Fusion and Illustrator. My fascination with numbers becomes apparent, among other examples, when sending messages at particular “magic” times: 15:30, 12:13, 23:45... During this year I deal with this fascination through the Kabbalah's world where numbers get a spiritual meaning. I have made three series of menorahs, each one based on a specific number (one, two, and three). Each series adheres to a different set of rules that generates objects from the seed number. With the help of mathematicians and programmers, I was able to implement a code that realizes all possible candelabrum variations. Each series consists of an object, a ring, and a pin that examine the status of candelabra nowadays. The object’s design is based on my own number’s interpretation. This is achieved by interpreting the underlying meaning of each and every number: “one” symbolizes unity, “two” stands for symmetry, and “three” represents stability. During Hanukkah, the objects, pins, and rings fulfill their function as a menorah, and the rest of the year the jewelry is worn and adorned with the wax that has left its mark on them.
