As a photographer, I am interested in examining and emphasizing the lack of photogenicity, the flaws and distortions that occur when capturing the body in motion; photographs where the subjects are caught off-guard, unprepared for the performance of photography. In the day- to-day routine and its arbitrariness, I look for spontaneous gestures that deviate from the usual course of activity which directs the flow of movement. At the decisive moment of photography, I slow down, I linger, I wait to catch unusual body gestures that will produce awkward and imperfect body positions. It is an attempt to control the uncontrollable and to fix a situation supposedly unworthy of being preserved.
