טיפה תספיק // A Drop Will Do// قطرة بتكف
Full emptied vessels A series of drinking vessels based on the research of jugs used for carrying water in our region. The water jug is an object that has become an image of locality – layered, multicultural, oscillating between the gendered and the political, an empty vessel that gains meaning depending on the person who carries it (typically, a woman). From the desire to express the water jug today, from the water pipes and thirst in 21st century Israel, I chose to create a series of drinking vessels designed for one drop of water, as a tribute to the effort and ritual of bringing water in the past. The series features flat, abstract containers that express the tension between the empty and the full, offering a slow and ceremonial, playful or meditative experience, which showcases the drop of water as a primary and beautiful raw material.
